PUENTES’ Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) has been invited to prepare a demonstration plot for the San Joaquin County Fair this summer!
The CAC met on site on Earth Day, April 22, to discuss their vision for the garden… ultimately it was decided that when developing the site, they would focus on the idea of demonstrating different types of soil preparation and gardening techniques.
The goal of the demonstration project will be to encourage community members to experiment in their own home gardens, and to demonstrate that soil type and space aren’t necessarily shouldn’t prevent people from planting home gardens to feed their families!
